Miss Christy opened this studio in January of 1995 with 15 students.  6 students were relatives and 2 of those were her girls; Lynse was turning 11 & Hayle was not even 2.

18 months later, in the spring of 1996, we had our first dance recital with 35 students!  We were off to a great start!

Lynse helped me build the business by answering the phone and inviting her friends while her sister Hayle was generally being kicked out of class for drawing spit pictures on the mirrors and not participating!  My 3rd daughter Mayce came along in 2000 and began her dance career in 2002, keeping up the tradition of getting kicked out class for being naughty.

Since 1995 the dance studio has changed its name 3 times.  We began as Dance Masters by Christy & Co, then DMC School of Dance & Music and we are now DMC School of Dance, LLC.

When DMC lost its building to the May 3, 1999 tornado, it was a blessing in disguise.  After the tornado and a series of temporary locations, we moved into our current wonderful free-standing state-of-the-art facility in July of 2006!  We finally had the perfect location!  The studio was even equipped with professional sprung neoprene marley floors in each of the dance rooms.  Finally our dreams had come true with plenty of parking, a big lobby, 3 dance rooms with viewing windows, a dance shop, an awning to pull under to drop off and pick up students, windows for the sun to shine in, a front lawn for kids to play on, an office with an actual land-line and computer, and a place to display all of Miss Christy's Barbies and collectables!

Since opening, DMC has raised many talented, smart, super-star dancers who have graced innumerous stages and won thousands of awards.

DMC Dance was honored by its peers as one of the top 12 dance studios in North America by "Successful Studio Strategies," in February 2008.  DMC was also voted “Best Dance Academy” by readers of The Choctaw Times for 4 consecutive years: 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.  We have also been mentioned in the well-known "Dance Magazine."

Since 2012, DMC has been accredited as a member of the Better Business Bureau, became a member of the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce and is a Lifetime member of Cambridge Who's Who Among Business Women.

We are also extremely involved in our community and we encourage all of our dancers and their families to join us in our outreach endeavors.  We have partnered with Dancers Against Cancer, Dancing for Diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Church of the Harvest, Mid Del Children’s Shelter, Taste of Midwest City, American Red Cross, Oklahoma Tornado Relief, Karey Rolland Memorial Fund, Megan Cox Scholarship, Jr. Service League, S.O.M.B.E.R 1st Responders Benefit. and March of Dimes.  We have also performed at numerous local functions, grand openings, and retirement homes and have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities.

Our staff recognizes that they play a huge role in the lives of every student that enters our doors and we take that very seriously.  We believe in leading by example.  Our #1 priority is to help build self-esteem and character and to teach qualities & responsibilities that will lead to a lifetime of success!

DMC caters to dancers of all ages, beginner to advanced! The studio is based on curriculum according to age and level. Class sizes are limited to ensure personal attention.

With years of experience and knowledge, and a genuine love for what we do, we plan on being around for a long time.  We hope that you’ll come join in on the journey.
