Madeline Mercer started dancing at the age of 13 in 2011 with DMC School of Dance. She started with a jazz class and completely fell in love with the art of dance. The next year, she continued to take more classes including Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, and Hip-hop. Madeline began dancing competitively in 2013 with the DMC Competition Team. Through the team she learned to grow as a dancer from the amazing DMC staff members and her fellow dancers. Madeline received her pointe shoes after only one year of attending ballet classes (which is very difficult). Afterward, she started receiving roles in DMC's Ballet Recitals such as Sleeping Beauty in the 20th Anniversary show, Magic Mirror in DMC's Snow White 2016 recital, and will be portraying Sleeping Beauty in the 2017 recital. She has attended numerous conventions and competitions such as Soul de Soul, OKLA, Tribute, Hall of Fame, Talent on Parade, Stage One and many more. She first started apprenticing with DMC in 2014 and after two years of assisting in classes she became a full-time staff member in the fall of 2016. She quickly fell in love with teaching and assisting classes at all age levels. Madeline graduated from Midwest City High School in 2016 and is continuing to further her education at Rose State College. She hopes to keep teaching and attending classes with DMC for many years to come.
