Miss Deigh Ann began taking dance at the age of 2 at Shawnee Academy of Ballet under Janet Combs. She studied Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Modern. She was a part of the competition team at age 7 winning multiple awards until the age of 14 when her studio director retired. Not knowing where to go from there she decided to attend multiple conventions where she studied with famous choreographers from all over the U.S. as well as the cast from the movie Step Up 3.
From there she decided it was time to chase her dream to become a choreographer and dance teacher. She then attended Grace Dance Center for two years where she competed on the competition team as well as assist in teaching the younger dancers. She found her love of clogging at Grace Dance Center and decided to attend Stomp’n Sensations Studio where clogging was the main dance style of the studio. She stayed there for 2 years until she was offered a job as a dance teacher at Best Foot Forward School of Dance her senior year of high school.
It was there that she took over the studio as the director of clogging classes as well as tap. She choreographed a whole Christmas show that was performed at the Christmas Gala in Tecumseh, Ok. This experience really inspired her love for teaching and pushed her towards that dream. She choreographed her own solos and took them to competition herself without a studio director where she won multiple awards as well as multiple judge’s choice awards. She was asked to dance in Las Vegas with the Hall of fame Dance Challenge dance team and the TOP Starz dance team. Her career as a competition dancer was slowly coming to a close and it was time to decide on college.
She went to Oklahoma City University as a Dance Universal major for her first year of college. She studied under multiple different world renowned choreographers and performers in the styles of Tap, Ballet, and all forms of Jazz during her time there. OCU didn’t have clogging, which was Deigh’s passion, so she left OCU determined to find more opportunities for clogging.
She was then asked to become certified as a clogging instructor. It was then that she became a member of C.L.O.G, the Texas Clogging Council, as well as the Arkansas Clogging Council. She took numerous classes under world renowned cloggers and will be a Certified Clogging Instructor in November of 2017.
As well as many awards, she has acquired ASCAP and BMI licensing, she has studied in many styles of ballroom, and is an avid square dancer.
